Craftsman at work in the workshop

The story behind the name

Built from nothing. Grown from the ground up.

Orrganic Woodworks is a play on the family name Orr. And a way of life.

It started with being broke.

I needed things for a home and didn't have the money to buy them. So I built them. That was it. No grand plan, no woodworking school. Just necessity, some lumber, and figuring it out. Then something unexpected happened: I found joy in it. The ability to look at raw wood and see what it could become. That feeling never left.

Right now I'm really loving rocking chairs. There's something about the rhythm of them. But I do it all: dining room tables, bar tops, butcher blocks, dog beds, wooden keepsake boxes, custom Bluetooth speaker boxes. If it can be built from wood, I want to build it. Every species is different. The grain, the weight, the smell, the way it takes a finish. I love all of it.

Lush garden plants growing

The earth gives us everything we need.

Growing my own food in my own dirt isn't a hobby. It's a conviction. Mother Earth gave us everything we need to feed ourselves and heal ourselves. Special herbs that work with our bodies the way they were designed to. Living soil that's alive with biology. Seeds that carry generations of wisdom in them.

I trade seeds and plants with local gardens and nurseries. I believe in that exchange. Knowledge, genetics, community. The more we share what we grow, the stronger all of us get.

The vision

The big dream.

My ultimate goal is to create a place where people come to learn the old-school way. Just in case it's ever needed. A garden so big the community will never go hungry. If you come and help, you take home food for your time.

A place large enough to have volunteers help build cabins. For interns who want to come for a summer, for people who want to help but have no shelter. Building a base knowledge of how to grow your own food and build your own furniture and cabin. Self-reliance, taught through doing. Not lectures. Showing.

That's what Orrganic Woodworks is working toward. Every table built, every seed traded, every consult given. It's all pointing the same direction.

What we stand for

Built by hand

No shortcuts. Every piece is made with real tools, real wood, and real time.

Grown with intention

From seed selection to harvest, everything we grow is done with purpose and care.

Community first

Knowledge shared is knowledge multiplied. We trade seeds, teach skills, and feed neighbors.

Earth as teacher

Mother Nature already figured it out. We're just paying attention and passing it on.

Come see what we're building.
